Just to inform everyone, we have been locking down our server firewalls, which means we restart the container. So you may have experienced 30 second windows of not being able to connect.

Now whats new?

We added some new events plugins and such. The biggest is Events+ which lets you set RSVP options on your event list. This is separate from the calendar, and must be enabled
(Plugins -> Events+ —- select Activate)

We have also added a new Classifieds Plugin; which makes a simple classifieds look, however, unless you have activity, I do not recommend keeping the page active in navigation. Otherwise its a dead page, and hurts the user impression of your site.

We have also done some tweaking of the Forums plugin (bbPress). We need to make a video on how to easily use it, but so far it looks good. The only thing we can’t figure out in the 10 minutes of testing it, is how to make a Private forum only visible to a specific minimum usertype (such as Editors). As it is, anyone who can login with an account on your website, can view the forum and participate.

We also have a new template Register for this Site form + registration component, which allows a user to Register for your specific Club Website, and be assigned an access level. You can choose if you want them to be an Author, or Simply a subscriber. This is an improvement should you choose to use it, because before if they registered, they would just be on the network, not subscribed to your site. If you chose Author as a base level, this means they would be able to create Draft posts (trail conditions, etc) and you would be able to Approve/Reject. Keep the CAPTCHA enabled on this form as you don’t want a bunch of Viagra posts on your club’s website.
