Arctic Cat Running Out of Turbos!

NickSnowmobile News

Arctic Cat just confirmed rumors that there will not be enough Turbo powered 1100 4 stroke snowmobiles due to excessive demand for their initial delivery. The St Cloud and Thief River falls plants are cranking out more as we speak. (well, probably not RIGHT now.. probably sleeping and starting back up come 7 am tomorrow)

What does this mean for those who ordered?

Nothing if you snow-checked one. They are reducing dealers “stock” inventory. This means if you chose not to snow check and ordered one from dealer who had previously ordered 7 to put on the showroom floor, there may be only 2-3 coming to that dealer.

So depending on when you ordered, it may not even matter. However, if you were waiting to sit on one, say “Vroom vroom ba bub bub bub” and kick the tires, er, track, well you may be out of luck.

Editors Opinion: A controlled release always seems to spike demand. Personally, I would not be surprised if this was a somewhat intentional ploy to get the aforementioned tire, er track, kickers to sign on a dotted line.

Snowmobiling is a fickle sport and due to the mercy of gas prices, weather, and more. Many have been disappointed spending hefty amounts to be met with a first snowfall come mid January. A controlled release like what we experience with iphone, Wii, Playstation, etc etc.. is probably a smart move by Arctic Cat. I expect the profit to jump substatially due to it, although EPS may be strong, I still call their stock a stinker
